Screenflex for Tizen

A simple guide to installing and configuring Screenflex on supported Samsung Smart Signage Displays.

1. Supported Samsung Models

Screenflex is compatible with Samsung TVs running Tizen, including BASIC, STANDARD and PREMIUM model groups:

  • 25TV_BASIC1
  • 25TV_BASIC2
  • 25TV_BASIC3
  • 25TV_PREMIUM1
  • 25TV_PREMIUM2
  • 25TV_PREMIUM3
  • 25TV_PREMIUM4

If your display belongs to one of these groups, it can install Screenflex directly from the Samsung App Store.

2. Install Screenflex from the Samsung Business App Store
Step 1 — Open the App Store

Using your Samsung remote:

  1. Press the Home button.
  2. Select Apps.
  3. Open the Samsung App Store.
Step 2 — Search for Screenflex
  1. In the search bar, type “Screenflex”.
  2. Select the Screenflex Player from the results.
Step 3 — Install the App
  1. Click Install.
  2. Wait for the installation to complete.
  3. Open the Screenflex app.
3. Grant Required Permissions

When Screenflex starts for the first time, the TV may request permissions such as:

  • Storage Access: To cache media, download assets, and play offline content.
  • Network Access: Allows content updates, reporting status, syncing schedules.

Approve all permission prompts to ensure correct operation.

4. Linking Your Device to Screenflex
Step 1 — Generate the Code
  1. Log in to your Screenflex Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Screens → Add Screen.
  3. Fill in the form.
  4. A 6-digit pairing code will be generated automatically.
Step 2 — Enter the Code on the TV
  1. Open the Screenflex app.
  2. Enter the 6-digit code provided by the dashboard.

    (Or enter the Screen Slug)

  3. After a few seconds, the device will:
    • Link to your account
    • Sync the assigned playlists
    • Begin showing content automatically

This linking method ensures that only authorized users can register new screens.

6. Network Recommendations

For stable digital signage playback:

  • Prefer wired (Ethernet) connection
  • If using Wi-Fi, choose a dedicated 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz network
  • Ensure at least 5 Mbps internet bandwidth per device
  • Prevent captive portals or login-based Wi-Fi
7. Updating Screenflex

Samsung automatically updates apps when new versions are available.

To update manually:

  1. Open Apps
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Select Screenflex
  4. Choose Update (if available)
9. Troubleshooting
Screenflex doesn’t link
  • Make sure the pairing code exists
  • Verify the device has internet
  • Check for typos in the 6-digit code or slug
Playback freezes or stutters
  • Restart the device
  • Ensure at least 5 Mbps bandwidth
  • Check if large 4K videos exceed the device's hardware capacity
App closes unexpectedly
  • Disable battery optimizations
  • Lock the app using App Pinning
  • Restart the device
  • Ensure the device is plugged in
  • Check for any recent updates
Empty Screen
  • Ensure a playlist is assigned
  • Try clearing local cache and reopening the app
